Q. Will we receive a printed catalogue for SS'2010?

A. For SS'2010, all our collection will be viewable on-line, all shot on our petite models to help you see how they might fit you. We have found over the last couple of seasons that our printed catalogues can become out of date very quickly, as stocks sell out or new lines appear. So, for this season, we will not be sending out any printed catalogues, but will be updating you with any new lines or promotions via our e mail newsletters, so be sure to have registered! You are still welcome to call us to order or post a cheque - we still want to talk to you..!

Q. How tall are the models you use for viewing your collection..?

All the models we use are genuinely 5’3 or under! We painstakingly spoke to a large number of model agencies trying to find authentic models who fit the proportions of our clothing – all the garments we use at the photoshoot are true samples we are testing for fit, so there are no camera tricks! People e mail us all the time suggesting we are using normal height models, the models don’t look small, because the clothes fit them – therefore making them look ‘normal’...! This season we used 3 differnet models, who between them were a size 6, 8 and 10.

Q.  Your clothes seem quite expensive?

A. I think it all depends on who you are comparing us to!…. being petite myself, I feel there is a real shortage of good quality, inspiring petite clothing. We are not attempting to compete with the likes of Next – who offer a great range of everyday clothing. I personally would love to shop in places like Hobbs and Jigsaw, and this is where our focus is – to offer a more upmarket range of clothing, with great quality and individuality. I just don’t think us petites have had the choice of buying these clothes before...

Please also find a customer response to this question:

I am a person who has been looking for years for better quality petite garments, and am quite happy to pay a bit more for them. The shops you mention you would like to shop in if sizing wasn't a problem - Hobbs, Karen Millen etc, are exactly the sort of shops I would like to shop in too – I'd rather pay for a quality garment that looks classy and that you won't see on every other petite woman you meet! So thanks a million for filling the gap.

Best wishes, Julia

Q. Are all your clothes branded ‘petite affair’?

A. Please take a look at the further information on our brands. Here you can read more about the clothing we offer, and what they stand for.

We have attempted to offer you a range of styles and budgets. Some carry our 'petite affair' brand and others will carry the brand name who designed them. Where it is not our brand, we simply take their designs and processes and 'petitise' them to match our standard fit as closely as possible.

Q. Do you have any plans to extend your choice of sizes?

A.  We aim to have all of our range available in a size 6-16. We have previously tried a size 18, however unfortunately didn't receive enough response.  A size 4 has recently been introduced and we are just seeing how demand goes initially...

Q. Can I buy your clothing in any stores?

A. For now, our clothing is available through our website.

Q. Will you be offering more choice of inside leg measurements?

A. Our current offering gives you trousers in lengths 27" and 29", with our jeans in 28", 29" and 30".

Q. What is your returns policy?

A. We are happy to offer a free returns service. Please see our returns policy for full details. Please note however that if you order mainly or only contains sale items, then we do ask that any returns are done so at your own cost, as with discounted items it becomes unviable for us to also then cover return postage costs too - many thanks!

Q. What about shoes?

A. We currently work with Riva Shoes who offer a lovely range of Italian made shoes - you can see the styles we chose on our website. If you know of any other brands we should be looking at, please do let us know!

Q. What happens if I want to order things which aren't yet in stock?

A. You are welcome to place an order which includes both in-stock and pre-order stock items in one order. We will process your order for any items which are currently in stock, and hold your order (and payment) for any that are due to arrive. When the stock has then arrived, we will process your additional payment and despatch these to you separately. You will only pay one amount of postage and packaging for the whole order, no matter how many times we need to despatch to you.
